The reputable Time magazine has unveiled its latest cover, and guess
who's on it? Transgender actor Laverne Cox! Cox, who played the role of
Sophia Burset in the Netflix TV series "Orange is the New Black," is
featured under the headline 'The Transgender Tipping Point.' This is the
first time a transgendered person would be covering the magazine, and
is suspected to be a compensation as Cox was not included in this years
Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people despite her
numerous awards and activist works. This exclusion sparked a backlash
and social media campaign that used the rallying cry:
